Crawl PPD uses automated crawling and manual verification to maintain accurate dehumidifier comparison data.
Price Verification
Street prices are automatically crawled from major retailers (Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe's, SupplyHouse, contractor channels). Crawl timestamps are displayed on every page. Prices change frequently—always check current retailer listings before purchasing.
Current status: Automated crawling is not yet deployed. When prices appear, they will include crawl dates.
Specification Verification
AHAM PPD, operating temperature ranges, pump lift capacity, warranty terms, and filtration specs are verified against:
- Manufacturer spec sheets (PDF and web)
- AHAM Directory of Certified Dehumidifiers
- Installation manuals
- Direct manufacturer communication when specs conflict
AHAM vs Crawl-Space Performance Caveat
Every comparison page discloses that AHAM PPD ratings (80°F / 60% RH) differ from actual crawl-space output. Crawl spaces typically run 20-25°F cooler and 10-25 percentage points more humid than AHAM test conditions, reducing effective moisture removal by 20-40%.
Users are directed to manufacturer performance curves for capacity estimates at their specific temperature and humidity conditions.
